Lovely, vivid, immersive writing here,. Maura! I, too, love visiting grocery stores in foreign countries. And it's always nice to see nice things said about the US, that doesn't happen so often anymore 😊

Thanks Lynda! America is so complicated and exasperating and beautiful! You could pick one state (or county, perhaps) and spend your whole life exploring it. It's vast. And never one thing. I really enjoyed sampling its scale again. I only wish I had more time...

Sorry for your loss Maura,

Good you could be there.

It's a long time since we've been to NYC, we boycotted the US entirely during the reign of no. 45, so it's time to go back before he becomes no.47. We don't even like to say his name.

We sail into NY harbour on 23 May on the Queen Mary II, something I've always wanted to do. My dad sailed there from Cobh once upon a time. X
