I was thrilled of the $1 billion grant as well. Amazing. So glad and maybe the young doctors will discover even more because of it. All in the name of medicine. Love it. ❤️

Yes, I was looking at the students jumping with joy, that dead weight lifting from their backs... how freeing that must be! Here comes the sun!

Yup! Exactly. That year of medical school, already paid for. Such a daunting task, to pay for all that tuition. Now at least a piece of it is gone. I hope these kids aka the students achieve the world.

It will certainly aid them in having more choice in what they decide to tackle next, and hopefully, approach their life with a similar generosity.

Loved this piece, Maura. I raced out to look at the moon after the Odysseus landed safely and thought "hello, Odysseus, we're back on the moon!" And I think I'm gonna listen to some Beatles and Nina Simone tonight.

What a sweet greeting! I went out to say 'Hello Moon' during the recent full moon. It was a stunner! I love seeing the countryside lit by a lunar glow that throws sharp moon shadows.

Yes, I love that glow as well! And also omg, that Nina Simone cover! How have I never heard it (or don't remember hearing it). I've played it twice already! Thank you for that!

You're welcome! I'm more familiar with that version than the original. It's so good.

It's funny the version of songs you first encounter. I think I fell in love with the Echo and the Bunnyman version of 'People are Strange' before I really encountered The Doors. I prefer The Doors version (although the cover is okay) because there's a vibrancy to the original, and Echo didn't do enough with the cover. I think I'll do a Substack about 'covers' at some point...

Haha, yes, I first encountered the Siouxsie and the Banshees versions of both "Dear Prudence" and "The Passenger" before their respective Beatles and Iggy Pop originals (and I do love The Beatles but I'm partial to Siouxsie's doomy interpretation).
