Really enjoyed the talk. Thanks for the censorship law details. I am doing a piece on John Broderick (a queer Irish writer whose first book was banned in the 1960s). I may use some of the facts.

Thanks, David! Always check my facts even though I have checked my facts. 😆 There were updates to the censorship legislation over the years too. It was not an easy country to live in back then if you had any 'alternative' opinions.

Yeah. I’m just amazed that that he published a queer book in 1965 (not in Ireland) and was living here. I only imagine the difference it could have made. His first book had queer stuff too but we don’t know if it was banned for that or the fact that his female character had sex.
