Welcome to the substack newsletter for me - Maura McHugh - a writer living in Galway, Ireland. Hello! I write science fiction, horror and fantasy fiction in many media, as well as non-fiction and cultural commentary.
What to expect?
I write fortnightly on topics of interest to me: cinema, mythology, art, technology, literature, history and philosophy, along with updates on my own projects, so on occasion you’ll hear the banging and swearing behind the gauzy curtain of creativity. Every other week I write a shorter ‘Extra Extra’ newsletter, which is often a grab bag discussion of immediate issues.

How much?
Everything is free at the moment, but you are welcome to upgrade to a monthly or yearly subscription if you want to support my work, as some already do. I plan to introduce fiction, as well as more audio and video as the newsletter evolves.
